Fernand Sassel – 1959, Luxembourgish

Chairman of the Board of Directors

  • Fernand Sassel joined the Valartis German Residential Health Care SICAV FIS in Luxembourg beginning of 2016 and has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Valartis German Residential Health Care SICAV-FIS – approved by the CSSF – since April 2016.
  • Fernand  holds a business degree from the ‘Hautes Etudes Commerciales – HEC’ Liège (Belgium) since 1981. After 20 years as chartered accountant and partially as auditor for several firms in Luxembourg, Fernand started his own practice as chartered accountant in Luxembourg beginning of 2008.
  • Since 1985 Fernand is member of the ‘Ordre des experts-comptables- OEC’ in Luxembourg.

Gustav O. Stenbolt – 1957, Norwegian

  • Gustav Stenbolt is Chairman of the Board and CEO of Swiss listed Valartis Group and member of the board of directors of EPH European Property Holdings Ltd., ENR Russia Invest S.A. and Anglo Chinese Group.

  • In 1996, Gustav founded MCT Group, one of the predecessors of Valartis Group, offering institutional asset management services focused on Eastern Europe and the CIS countries.

  • From 2004 to 2007 he was president of the executive committee of Jelmoli Holding AG, by then one of the leading department store and real estate companies in Switzerland.

  • Gustav graduated from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland with a degree in Economics.

Gerald Scheweder – 1972, Austrian

  • Gerald Scheweder joined Valartis in 2007 as head of Valartis’ Corporate Finance and M&A activities
  • In 2017, Gerald has been appointed board member of Valartis German Residential Health Care. He is responsible i.a. for identification of acquisition targets, deal execution, debt financing, and financials.
  • Besides his professional duties he is BoD member of Beletage AG, an Austrian property development company, and CNT Management Consulting AG, Austria, an IT consulting firm.
  • Gerald started his career with PwC co leading Corporate Finance / M&A team of PwC Vienna. After leaving PwC he joined a consumer goods company as COO being responsible for acquisitions, integration, restructuring, and reorganization.
  • Gerald holds a master degree of the Vienna University of Economics and Business
